SOC 01132 - CONSUMER ECONOMICS (sem) Grade 12 1/2 Credit

Course Content Goals: As a result of their learning, students will be able to:

  • Practice the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will be necessary to make quality decisions about their economic resources.
  • Explore the basic principles of economics.
  • Review economic concepts involving budgeting, credit, purchasing goods and services, insurance, and taxes.

Course Activities: Students will have a text as a basis for this class. They will have reading and writing assignments based on the textbook. Students will expand their comprehension of the individual’s impact on the economy of a nation. They will relate their day-to-day consumerism and economic forces. Students will take notes, work in groups, research various topics, and produce reports. Assessment is accomplished through a variety of methods.
